The ECA-Sindel Mistral 4000 Full Mission Class A simulator is a
system which
allows
executing to maneuver and handle a ship in all
conditions, so
to realize
every
kind of
training session.
-
The system can be configured to meet all the training requirements
so to create
a realistic environment for the trainee. A typical
configuration can be fitted with
the
following standard equipment:
• External Vision Image Generation System "VISION-E"
• Chart table and NAVAIDS "NAVSIM 2”
• ECDIS Console with radar overlay
• Binocular/bearing display
• Generic RADAR/ARPA Display, "RADSIM 2"
• Conning console "MANSIM EXTENDED"
• Independent Steering Stand
• VHF and Intercom panel
• Alarm monitor
• Anchors control panel
• Near-Replica" GMDSS console, "BSC 6200"
• Overhead instrument panel
• Sound and vibration system
-
Compared with a Class B simulator, the Class A integrates some
features such as,
among the others, the following:
• Mooring operations
• Anchoring operations
• Visual system with an horizontal field of view of, at least,
240° and a vertical field of view of, at least, 25°
• Dedicated visual system to observe the ship's side and the
dock during the mooring operation
• Dedicated sound generation system capable of providing
environmental sound according to conditions simulated
-
The Mistral 4000 Line is certified by Italian Navy Register RINA
as compliant with
the
requirements as set out in both section A-I/12
and section B-I/12 of STCW’95
convention
configured as requested.

Shiphandling Simulator |
Product description |
 |
-
The ECA-Sindel Mistral 4000 Shiphandling Class B simulator is a
system which
allows
executing to maneuver and handle a ship in all
conditions, so
to realize
every
kind of
training session.
-
A Class B simulator is really similar to a Class A system and it is
possible,
in every
time
of the system’s life, to integrate the system
with the specific Class A
competence.
The Class B main capabilities include, among the others:
• The model realistically simulate own ship hydrodynamics in all
conditions, including shallow water and bank effects, interaction
with other ships and sheer current
• For tug operation, the model is affected by own ship’s speed and
include degrading performance depending on the type of tug
simulated. It is possible to operate with both conventional and
tractor tugs having different characteristics and response time.
• Visual system with an horizontal field of view of, at least, 120° and
a vertical field of view of, at least, 25°.
• The projection system is placed at such a distance and in such a
manner from the bridge windows that accurate visual bearings may
be taken to objects in the scene.
• The use of binocular systems for observations is available
• The visual system replicate movements of own ship according to
6 degrees of freedom.

Navigation Simulator |
Product description |
 |
-
The ECA-Sindel Mistral 4000 Navigation Class C simulator is a
system which
allows
to train in safe navigation through the use of
radar and ARPA
and modern
navigation
systems to assist command
decision-making.
-
The Class C simulator is a basic system with which the trainee can
familiarized with:
• Use of radar and ARPA to maintain safety of navigation
• Respond to emergencies
• Respond to a distress signal at sea
• Manoeuvre the ship
To meet these competences, the Class C is usually configured with:
• Generic RADAR/ARPA Display, "RADSIM 2"
• Conning console "MANSIM"
• Independent Steering Stand
• VHF and Intercom panel
• GMDSS console (virtual or near replica configuration)
-
A Class C simulator is composed by part of the same Class A and
Class B
equipment
and it is possible, in every time of the system’s
life, to integrate the
system with the
specific Class A or Class B
competence.

Special Tasks |
Product description |
 |
-
The ECA-Sindel Special Task identified some of the Mistral 4000
modules
dedicated
to specific training activities. The modules can be software only,
with
a near replica
hardware console or integrated with
real equipment.
-
The Special Task line include:
• Tug Simulator
• Fishing Simulator
• Dynamic Positioning
• Vessel Traffic System
• Crisis Management
• ShipSim
-
Among the Special Task, a particular system is included: the system
stimulator
an
hardware/software package that allows linking real
equipment in a simulator system.

GMDSS Simulator |
Product description |
 |
-
The ECA-Sindel GMDSS Simulation System has been developed
taking into
account
the needs of the training and assessment
Institutions to
have
available,
at low-cost,
a training tool fully meeting
STCW'95
Code
[ROC and GOC] and
allowing
high reliability/low
maintenance cost.
-
